Florida
Engineering Foundation, Inc.
Funds $25,000 in Engineering Scholarships
for the 2006-2007 School Year!
The
Florida Engineering Society scholarships are
generously funded by the Florida Engineering
Foundation, Inc. (FEF). Established in 1986,
FEF is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit entity whose
mission is to encourage and assist students in
pursuing engineering careers and to educate the
public about engineering. Furthermore, the Florida
Engineering Foundation, Inc. promotes and enhances
engineering education in Florida in order to
position our state as a technological leader
in the global economy. This year, FEF is pleased
to announce that it will fund to $25,000 for
available scholarships.
Florida
Engineering Society scholarships inspire and
encourage the pursuit of an education focused
on engineering. These scholarships are made possible
by the generous tax deductible contributions
of Florida Engineering Society members, private
companies and the general public to the Florida
Engineering Foundation, Inc.

offers several scholarship programs for students interested
in pursuing careers in engineering.
Named
Scholarships
The following scholarships are also awarded through
the Florida Engineering Foundation, Inc. If you are

Cesar
A. Calas/FES Miami Chapter Amount $1,000
- Attend
an accredited College of higher learning and enrolled
in an engineering program approved by
the Florida Engineering Society scholarship committee
- 3.0
GPA
- Maintain
12 credit hours per semester
- Exemplary
citizenship standards
- Permanent
(non-school) residence in Miami-Dade or Monroe
County
David
F. Ludovici Amount $1,000
- Enrolled
full time in an ABET accredited Florida engineering
school
- Interested
in Civil, Structural, or Consulting Engineering
Eric
Primavera Memorial Scholarship Amount $1,000
- Enrolled
full time in an ABET accredited Florida engineering
school
- Preference
will be given to students desiring to attend Florida
Institute
of Technology
Firm
Scholarships
There
are also opportunities for sponsorship of endowed
scholarships by interested companies. The following
firms sponsored scholarships in 2005.

ACEC/Florida
Scholarship
The
ACEC Florida Scholarship will honor one Florida
college student expressing interest and commitment
to the business and management of the engineering
profession. To qualify, a student must be a
US citizen pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and
Technology (ABET)-approved engineering program
or in an accredited land-surveying program.
Students must be entering their junior, senior,
or fifth year of college to qualify.
One
statewide winner will be determined, and awarded
an ACEC Florida Scholarship in the amount
of $1,000. That scholarship recipient will then
be forwarded to ACEC for consideration for the
ACEC Scholarships, $5,000 for the ACEC Scholar
of the Year and $3,000 for the ACEC College of
Fellows Award. CLICK

FECON
Scholarship
The
Florida Engineers in Construction are pleased
to announce the availability of a $1,000 scholarship.
An applicant must:
- Be
currently enrolled or accepted into a Florida
university engineering program.
- Be
in or entering his/her junior or senior year.
- Have
at least a 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale.
- Be
recommended by an engineering faculty member.
- Be
interested in pursuing a career in the field
of construction.
If
no qualified applications are received, FECON
reserves the right not to
award a scholarship.
The selection of the scholarship recipient
is made by the FECON Administrative Committee
and
is final.

of Scholarship: $1,000

FPEG
Fellowship
The
Florida Professional Engineers in Government
are pleased to announce the availability of
a fellowship. An applicant must:
- Be
eligible to be a member of the Florida Engineering
Society.
- Be
employed by a government agency in an engineering
position.
- Be
enrolled in or accepted by a graduate program
to obtain an advanced degree in engineering,
engineering management, public administration,
public works administration or business administration
(copy of acceptance letter).
If
no qualified applications are received, FPEG
reserves the
right not to award a fellowship
or to select a winner from the applications
received by the FES scholarship committee.
Preference
will be given to upper division engineering
students with an interest in working for a
government
agency.
Amount
of Fellowship: $2,000 maximum for 2006
