The MOU is to Increase Collaboration, Interchange of Information
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 26, 2023) – Leaders from the Florida Engineering Society (FES) and Colegio De Ingenieros Y Agrimensores De Puerto Rico (CIAPR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) increasing communication and collaboration, and allowing these professionals to exchange scientific and technical information to strengthen technical knowledge within the industry.
“Given the number of engineers with Puerto Rico licenses working in Florida, as well as the amount of Florida engineering firms working in Puerto Rico, having this vehicle of collaboration is a necessity,” said Eric M. Jimenez, Vice Chair, Florida Engineers in Construction.
“We should see a lot coming out of this agreement and are excited to strengthen the relationship of our organizations,” Faustino Gonzalez, President of Colegio De Ingenieros Y Agrimensores De Puerto Rico.
Signing the MOU on behalf of the Florida Engineering Society were:
- Ron M. Colas, PE, SI, FES President Elect
- Charles Davis, FES Vice President of Finance
- Eric Jiménez, PE, PMP, CCM, Vice Chair, Florida Engineers in Construction Executive Committee
Signing on behalf of the Colegio De Ingenieros Y Agrimensores De Puerto Rico were:
- Faustino González, PE, CIAPR President
- Omar R. Rodriguez, PE, Florida Chapter President
- Erika J. Rivera, PE, Florida Chapter Secretary
The MOU signing took place Saturday, June 24 during a ceremony held in conjunction with the Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico – Florida Chapter 22nd Annual Conference in Orlando.
