Event Planner
Starting immediately, the Florida Engineering Society (FES) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC Florida) are looking to hire an Event Planner in Tallahassee, FL.
We are looking for an eager, talented, and passionate event planning professional to help our association continue to grow and promote the Engineering profession in Florida. The Event Planner will work directly with the COO and Director of Events. This position is ideal for someone with a business, communications, hospitality management, marketing, or public relations background or degree.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Skill Requirements: Optimistic attitude and personality, which are carried over the phone and email. Demonstrable event planning experience. Working knowledge of in-person, virtual, and hybrid event planning, such as program development, budgeting, site selection, contract negotiation, fundraising, and execution, including coordinating food and beverage, audiovisual, and more, relating to various conferences and continuing education programs. Strong customer service and organizational skills. Attention to detail, especially in writing. Ability to multitask and learn new technologies, including software. Experience with TEAMS, GoTo Webinar, and YourMembership AMS is preferred.
Summary of Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Education & Events team to provide exceptional programs for current and potential members.
- Prepares and executes an annual technical engineers conference in coordination with the associated committee.
- Prepares and executes monthly hybrid training labs in coordination with the associated committee.
- Collaborates with staff and membership to secure valuable and relevant content for educational webinars; Prepares and executes said webinars monthly.
- Provides support for all FES Chapter & ACEC Florida Regional events in coordination with member leadership.
- Liaison for the FECON, FPEG, & FPEI Practice Sections for meetings and associated events. Registrar for all conferences, seminars, webinars & online courses.
- Develops and maintains a positive relationship with event partners, presenters, and vendors.
- Collaborates with the Marketing & Communications team to increase event awareness.
- Provides excellent customer service to current and potential members by phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Travel to out-of-town events as required by responsibilities and/or upon the request of the Executive Director or Chief Operating Officer.
